“Lebanon has 18 religious communities”: it’s funny because among the population people tend to be able to live in peace. It’s their leaders and their urge to have some chief in charge to follow that make these communities difficult to live together. And I don’t think actual international community (including the Arabs) would help Lebanon find a way to overcome this problem. They have other important things to do: make them become even more revolted on each other. When Lebanese people will grow up loving their differences, they will be able to face the problem.Until then they are still in their revolted adolescence phase.
“It has 40 daily newspapers”: so 40 ways to interpret a reality that is already too impossible to understand. And even more to put in words.
“There's 1 doctor per 10 people in Lebanon (In Europe &America, there's 1 doctor per 100 people)”: this fact make me laugh so much! Are there too many doctors or too many sick people?
“Beirut was destroyed and rebuilt 7 times”: in some other reality I think it has been doing this once every day. So an x number of times…
“There's 3.5 Million Lebanese in LebanonThere's around 10 Million Lebanese outside Lebanon”: well… the ones in Lebanon are the ones that are too over emotional… I tried to leave once; it’s a step that Lebanese make very easily. I came back because I felt I should put all my constructive energy in a country that needs me. I believed in something over evolutional. How stupid of me?
“There are over 350 Night Clubs in the City of Beirut alone”: no way!!! There are so much more!!! Well… we are excessive in so many things why not in opening bars?
“The country was occupied by over 16 countries :( Egyptians-Hittites- Assyrians- Babylonians- Persians- Alexander the greats Army- the Roman Empire Byzantine- the Arabian Peninsula-TheCrusaders- the Ottoman Empire Britain- France- Israel- Syria- Iran- USA)”: and soon Timbuktu!! What do you think? We are such a friendly place…
“Lebanon is the only Asian/African country that doesn't have a desert”: it doesn’t mean that we don’t have places that reach the stars… Deserts have so much beauty inside… Mountains too.
“Lebanon is the only non-dictatorial country in the Arab world”: this fact can change, be true, be false, stay like it is, never become so, or apparently is like this but in fact no or… the list is as big as there are possibilities of change.
And as change is the only thing that is constant in life, this is how this part of the world will stay…
Too much illusion, too much realty, too many extremes.
Too lost.
